Back before the internet became what it is today, there was a trend in Hollywood to make erotic thrillers and one of them was 1997's Poison Ivy: The New Seduction starring Jaime Pressly as a vengeful dominatrix and seductress.
By thriller, I mean that someone kinky is also a psychopath. Jaime Pressly's character walks around in the same fetish outfit for most of the movie and apparently travels to her clients dressed in a leather basque and pvc coat.
OK, this one is bad, but I saw it when I was young.
OK, it's not a great film and is surprisingly boring. In a lot of places, it feels like it's taking itself seriously when it should be leaning into camp cheesy fun. It feels like someone didn't get the notes on what kind of film this was.
Ok, so I am not a big Madonna fan but I do remember her in an amazing latex dress in Four Rooms from 1995. It's a comedy, ish, it didn't really work form me but Madonna does wear the dress in all the scenes she is in,so that's a plus.
Julie Newmar was already well known for her work as a dancer and actress on Broadway by the time she was cast as Cat woman on the 60's Batman tv show, but that is where I first saw her.
In 1957 she got her first tv part as Suzie in The Phil Silvers Show picture and clip below, and thanks to Andy for letting me know about that. A few years later she played a sexy, Amazonian android in My Living Doll and standing at 5'9 I can understand why she was cast. If you look closely at the clip from The Phil Silvers Show you will see that she is not wearing heels and is still looking down on the rest of the cast.
However, it was in 1966 that she began playing Catwoman. Looking back at it I'm surprised the network got away with having someone as sexy as Julie Newmar dressed in a catsuit on a kid show, but I am glad they did.
After Batman, she carried on working on stage and screen. In the 70's she invented and sold lingerie and then in the 80's she became and real estate mogul.
