A while ago I posted explaining how I had used Alice Faye in Irving Berlin's 1937 musical comedy On The Avenue, as a model for one of my characters. I had found the images by chance as I was looking around online and thought she looked amazing in her latex outfit. I had never seen anything like it from that time period before, 1937 was not known for women wearing latex.
It took a while but I finally managed to get a copy of the film and I think it was worth the time.
Now that I have seen better images I'm not too sure it is latex, or at least not all. The skirt looks like satin and there does seem to be a lot of black satin in the film, but I still think the top in the images below is latex.
